School Centred Community Hub Program

The School Hub Program is a key activity of the Alliance to strengthen families through neighbourhood service networks. Hubs provide programs for babies, children and carers in community spaces and schools. Example activities include supported play-groups, transition to school programs, parent programs, fun events, supported referral to universal and targeted services and shared professional development between professionals working with children.

Hubs affiliated with the Stronger Families Alliance share many common features. These include:

  • Participating in the School Centred Community Hub Executive, a Mountains wide governance structure
  • Creating a local level neighbourhood service network to drive their development
  • Implementing the Stronger Families Alliance’s Child and Family Plan objectives
  • Programming to involve children and their carers’ at the earliest possible age

Each Hub is run by a different lead agency and network of services and volunteers at a neighbourhood level. The Hub lead agency is funded through the State Government's Families NSW program.
